Chief Recruiter and Owner

Brett is a tenured recruiter who assists companies in finding talented professionals in the distribution, logistics, and supply chain community. His core values are integrity, passion, and customer service.

Prior to starting Schurman Executive Recruiting, Brett spent 16 years with Manta Resources, an affiliate of MRINetwork. While at MRI, Brett was recognized numerous times as a leader in the field. A sample of accomplishments would be:

– 12-time Pacesetter, designated as a top 3% performer in my global organization.
– Regularly recognized as a “Top 50” performer in MRINetwork world-side.
– $5M+ club in less than 16 years.

Brett has placed professionals in supply chain ranging from supervisor to a COO, in operations, engineering, facilities and maintenance, HR, and IT. Brett has also worked in support fields of supply chain with engineering firms, MHE manufacturers, and IT consulting firms.

Outside of work, Brett enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, traveling, the outdoors, and his fur-baby Millie.

Maria Becerra

Supply Chain Recruiter

Maria has been involved in recruiting for over 20 years. She has developed and implemented recruiting programs for organizations in various industries including Supply Chain/Distribution. As Human Resources Manager, she led the recruiting strategy for Lowe’s Regional Distribution Center in Perris, CA and has extensive experience with recruiting and selection for Fortune 50, 100 and 500 companies.

Maria’s strengths as an HR professional include an understanding of the knowledge, skills, and abilities, required to be successful in Supply Chain/Distribution. She understands first-hand the operational, leadership, and work ethic demands that organizations in Supply Chain/Distribution need, as well as the rewards and opportunities that attract top performing candidates.

Maria holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State Polytechnic, Pomona and graduate studies in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Cal State San Bernardino.

Maria spends her free time hiking the San Jacinto mountains in California and walking the beaches of Cancun with her family, including her four furry family members: Tito, Princess, Bella and Brownie.

Kate Stephens

Supply Chain Recruiter

Kate is a seasoned recruiter who has worked in a variety of industries. For the last 9 years Kate has worked for an Indianapolis based boutique staffing firm that largely focuses on positions within the field of human resources, customer service, administrative and accounting. Kate was known for her ability to guide candidates through their career which led to long lasting relationships. She has a real passion for helping clients and candidates to find the best possible match. She accomplishes this by having an innate ability to understand both the client and candidate’s needs and also in assessing talent. Kate is a relator, positive in nature, approaches all situations with integrity and is naturally inquisitive.

Kate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ball State University and is a certified Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) professional.

Family is at the utmost importance to Kate, so she enjoys spending time with her husband, their daughter, cat and dog. She is a nature seeker whether that be going on walks or hiking mountain sides. Philanthropy is at the center of who Kate is, so she also likes to spend time volunteering in the community and is on the board for a local community organization.

Paula Lerzak

Supply Chain Recruiter

Paula is an insightful, organized, and results-driven search professional with over 20 years of combined industry and recruiting experience. She loves to work with candidates eager to grow their careers, and brings the proven ability to maneuver through dynamic job markets to meet and exceed client expectations.
 
Paula’s career began at Apple, Inc., where her professional journey ranged from project management and marketing, to professional services management, where she first began building a team of technical consultants. Her shift to recruiting has allowed Paula to showcase her core skills as a talent sleuth and relationship builder. She has a passion for creating meaningful connections with candidates and clients, and has a keen sense of urgency.  
  
Paula received her Bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of California Santa Barbara.
 
When not helping talented candidates and fabulous clients, she can be found on her mat focused on her yoga practice, reading, or spending time with her family.  She is a self-proclaimed “cat lady,” with three cats, but also loves their chocolate lab.
